Surround sound and home theatre in Melbourne

Cinema rooms and living room surround sound, designed for your space and simple to run.

Let's talk

Dedicated cinema or living room

A dedicated cinema room gives the best result, but a well-planned living room system can be very good. We advise on what suits your space, your budget and how you watch.

What we design and install

  • Surround sound from 5.1 up to Dolby Atmos layouts, with speaker positions planned from the drawings
  • Projectors, screens and large displays, including hidden or recessed installations
  • Amplifiers, processors and equipment racks with proper ventilation
  • HDMI, ARC and audio routing that works every time you press play
  • Room treatment advice so the sound is clear, not boomy

Done properly the first time

Surround sound depends on cabling and speaker positions that are hard to change later. We give your architect, builder and electrician clear drawings of cable runs, speaker locations and equipment space early in the project.

Set up, tested and handed over

We calibrate the system, set up your sources, and write simple instructions for the family. See also our multi-room audio page for music through the rest of the house.

Common questions

What is the difference between surround sound and a soundbar?

A soundbar puts sound in front of you. A surround system places speakers around the room so sound comes from behind and above as well. It is a bigger step up in a good room than most people expect.

Do I need a dedicated room for a home cinema?

No. A dedicated room gives the best result, but a well-planned living room system can be very good. We advise on what suits your space.

Can speakers and screens be hidden?

Yes. In-wall and in-ceiling speakers, acoustically transparent screens and recessed or lift-away displays can all be planned in. The earlier we know, the more options you have.

Can you fix or upgrade my existing home theatre?

Often. We look at what you have, find what is limiting it, and recommend the simplest upgrade, which is sometimes only speaker positions or setup rather than new equipment.
